Business Development

What do we mean by "Business Development"?

There are many forms of business development. These can be tactical or strategic, and one person's "tactical" is another person's "strategic".

Some steps may involve product design or presentation, such we would consider to be tactical, as we would a review of your sales staff, literature, website and sales procedures.

Increasing sales is a common form of business development as is adding new products, new customers or new markets. We can provide all forms of research to give answers on the effects of any proposed course of action.

If the company's products are found to be suitable, then pursuit of overseas business can be considered. Whether this is seen as a strategic or a tactical move depends on viewpoints in your company.

Moves which most people would agree to be strategic, include purchasing a competitor (a horizontal move) or a supplier of parts or materials (a vertical move). You may on the other hand be considering selling your business, and would like to know in confidence what the market considers your business is worth.

Active participation is our preferred approach. We would want to be treated as trusted senior participants in your business, reporting to the most senior person or people in your company. Our relationship can be short or long-term, as you decide.
